DATE OF THIS TRIP: 2005-07-17
Tourism Delta expresses my sentiments exactly: BE A HOME TOWN TOURIST! It's easy to do.
My destination (starting point): Wellington Point Park boat ramp.

What I'd come to check out: the boat ramp at Wellington Point Park (just a few kilometers west of Ladner along River Road). Ideal for a kayak launch.
View across Sea Reach (south Fraser River) from Wellington Point Park.

Westham Island map...
Westham Island agriculture: spuds?
Westham Island agriculture: what has "purple" flowers? A farmer I'm not!
What tales could this old shack tell?

Ladner Harbour is about working boats and fish processing plants.
The bike path along the top of the dike, parallel to River Road, takes me to the western end of Ladner Harbour.
The top of the dike makes for a pleasant bike ride.
Just west of Ladner Harbour (looking east).
Looking east down Ladner Harbour as the slough gets narrower.
Across the slough that is Ladner Harbour (and over to what I am about to discover, is Ladner Harbour Park).
The view west along the slough that is Ladner Harbour (from about "downtown Ladner").
Biking along River Road, east of Ladner, I spotted this sign: let's have a look...
